A collaborative community-led project to create a welcoming and inclusive community garden and sustainability hub for our local community.
How it works
The Coolum Common Community Garden is cared for by a passionate team of member volunteers, on behalf of the Coolum community, using organic and regenerative principles.
Everyone is welcome — locals, newcomers, families, kids, and visitors. Make yourself at home in the garden.
Please note we have 15 “leased” and “learning beds” these have numbers and/or bees on the front – please leave these. You are welcome to pick and plant from any of the other garden beds. We have 17 free garden beds for anyone to pick and plant in.
Please take only what you need, and never the whole plant — so it can keep growing
Harvest leaves from the outside of leafy greens, and never more than half the plant.
Pop your scraps in the compost bays, not the bin — every banana peel counts!
Children are welcome and encouraged — we created our children’s garden corner for you to enjoy (pick and plant as you please). Please supervise little ones around tools and garden beds.

How Rent A Garden Bed
We have 10 full height garden beds (800mm)for rent and 5 half height (400mm).
If you would like to rent a garden bed at Coolum Common they are $120 for full height and $70 for lower garden beds for 12 months.
Our greenhouse is stocked with garden tools, hose and equipment for you to care for your garden. You will get the code to use the greenhouse at any time when you rent your bed.
You can share with your friends or neighbours and grow and connect together at the Community Garden.

You can contribute to the community garden, garden beds start at $220, planting for a season is $50, kids tools for as little as $15 or seeds/seedlings can be purchased for as little as $5. Every little bit helps.
